Mildura Arts & Culture Strategy 2026–2031

Mildura Rural City Council is developing a new
Arts and Culture Strategy 

The Strategy will shape the future direction of arts, culture and creativity across the region over the next five years and beyond. It will act as a guide for Council’s investment, partnerships, participation and cultural development across the region, while recognising the important role arts and culture play in community identity, wellbeing, tourism and economic development. 

Ways to participate
Consultation and input from the community is a critical part of the process to develop this strategy. Members of the local community are invited to participate through any or all of the following ways:

1. Online survey available at Council’s Your Say https://yoursay.mildura.vic.gov.au/

2. Local community forums held during the week of 22 June

3. Making a written submission
Community members, arts organisations, local business and others are invited to make a written submission for consideration as part of developing the new strategy. Your submission will be considered alongside learnings and insights gathered from the online survey and the local community forums.

How to make a Written Submission

1. Deadline: Written submissions can be made up to midnight on 19 June 2026

2. Upload: To lodge your Written Submission, click the button below to access the submission form

3. Length: Written submission can be up to a maximum 6 pages

4. Format: Upload your written submission as either a PDF or Word document (file ending in .pdf or .doc or .docx)

  Why do you believe it is critical that Mildura Council has a clear arts and cultural strategy?

  A one-page summary of your key points

• Success factors
  What are the key strengths of arts and cultural activity in the region? 

• Participation and Access
  How do you think we can increase participation, awareness and engagement with the arts in the region?  

• What is missing?
  What are the challenges & gaps that could be addressed and help support the growth and sustainability of the sector? 

• Future Opportunities & Priorities
  What are the key things that should be addressed?
  What will make the greatest difference for the local community and the cultural identity of the region?
